Song City Troy Experience

I have played hundreds of shows in my life. Varying in type from house shows, all ages punk DIY style, clubs, dive bars, theatres, festival gigs, etc. Nothing quite like the experience at Song City In Troy, NY on February 13th. The events are held on the second floor of local spot, The Ruck. An intimate setting that is warm and inviting. As a performer, I have always dealt with an extreme sense of anxiety leading up to the event. This was the case until I arrived. Song City founder and director, Scott Womer brought that sense of home and family to the event. This is not easy to do. He was respectful, passionate, friendly, accommodating and seemingly telepathic to the individual artist’s needs. If you’re a songwriter that is dedicated to your craft and unique in tone, this is the place you should play. If you simply love supporting art and music, join your kindred spirits at Song City. I felt free to express bits of my personal life as they pertained to the songs I chose for the night. A first for me. I am very much looking forward to returning as a member of the crowd. Thanks again to Scott and the crew, Sara Milonovich, Dylan Perrillo & Girl Blue. Extra special thanks to my friend and frequent collaborator, Alicia Macier VanScoy. You put a little skin on the bare bones of these tunes.
